The team is fully remote with roots in Silicon Valley and members across more than 20 states, serving clients worldwide.

About the Opportunity

The Director of Engineering will lead and expand AI and engineering teams, overseeing technical strategy, application architecture, and delivery across frontend, backend, and AI features. This role focuses on transforming complex machine learning models and multi-source analytics into user-friendly, enterprise-grade web applications that support national security operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow software teams spanning full stack engineering, core application services, data engineering, and AI/ML integration
• Architect and manage execution of user-facing web platforms, ensuring smooth integration of UI workflows, backend APIs, and real-time AI model inference
• Collaborate with Data Science and Product teams to operationalize advanced AI capabilities such as large language models, computer vision, and narrative detection into enterprise-ready features
• Drive adoption of an AI-first software development lifecycle using AI-assisted coding, automated code reviews, and intelligent CI/CD pipelines to improve developer efficiency
• Implement AI-driven automated quality assurance strategies including generative testing and self-healing test suites to enhance release reliability and reduce manual regression

Requirements

• Minimum 8 years of software engineering experience with at least 4 years in engineering leadership managing full stack and software development teams
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
• Proven ability to deliver and scale enterprise-grade full stack web applications incorporating production AI/ML services
• Experience implementing AI-augmented development environments and CI/CD pipelines
• Strong knowledge of AI-driven automated testing and quality assurance techniques
• Demonstrated success in integrating machine learning models into scalable full-stack web applications
• Experience recruiting, hiring, and retaining high-quality remote engineering talent
