About the role
The Director of Engineering (T&I) at Millerbernd Manufacturing is responsible for directing goals and strategies for the professional engineering & product design teams. They internally coordinate efforts for successful product development with customer care teams and externally customer-facing, especially with departments of transportation, electrical contractors, specifiers, and committees. Internally, they support supply chain and operations teams, contributing to scalable manufacturing methods.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Leverage industry knowledge through committees and conferences
- Develop and maintain communication channels with customers
- Support supply chain and operations teams
- Hire, develop, train, and build a high-performing team
- Collaborate with manufacturing engineering and drafting teams
- Facilitate communication between design team and field representatives
- Manage customer escalations regarding DOT standards and specifications
- Ensure effective communication with distributors and sales strategies
- Facilitate individual and team growth through development plans
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in related technical field
- Demonstrated experience with business-to-business product development
- Expertise in CAD software, preferably Solid Works
- Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strategic mindset and foresight in product development and project management
- Effective and appropriate written and verbal communication skills
- Problem analysis and problem-solving abilities
- Strong interpersonal, networking, and influencing skills
- Professional, detail-oriented work ethic
- Exceptional math skills, including fractions, decimals, geometry, and algebraic concepts
- Collaborative approach in team and individual settings
- Data-driven mindset and technology aptitude
Pay
$141,000 – $173,000 per year (Exempt role)
Schedule
Shift Schedule: 1st shift Monday – Friday
Business Hours Shift Differential: 1st shift – N/A
