About the role

The Contra Costa County Health Services Department is recruiting for a Lead Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician position. This position is located in Martinez but involves routine travel to the outpatient health centers.

Responsibilities

• Plans, assigns, and coordinates shift work activities in the central processing and sterilization unit.
• Interprets procedures and guidelines for subordinate staff.
• Reviews series of records associated with quality assurance and institutional accreditation.
• Enforces applicable directives, policies, and statutes under the guidance of the supervisor.
• Aids in establishing new procedures and training programs.
• Cleans, decontaminates, inspects, packages, and sterilizes surgical instruments and medical devices.
• Provides coverage in Central, East, and West clinics.
• Ensures clinics are informed of any regulatory or departmental changes when assigned in Ambulatory Care.

Requirements

• Possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's License.
• Completion of a formal sterile processing training program or two (2) years of full-time or equivalent experience in a central processing and sterilization unit of an acute care hospital performing sterile processing and distribution functions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED equivalency, or high school proficiency certificate.
