Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership for the development, delivery, management, quality assurance, and continuous improvement of online, hybrid, and web-enhanced courses and programs.
- Lead the planning and implementation of distance education initiatives.
- Collaborate with faculty and academic leadership to promote innovative, accessible, and student-centered approaches to online learning.
- Oversee distance education operations, online course quality, instructional design support, and compliance with institutional, state, and federal requirements specific to distance education.
- Support faculty in effective online course development and delivery.
- Establish quality standards and processes for online learning.
- Monitor program effectiveness and identify opportunities to enhance the overall distance learning experience through continuous assessment, collaboration, and improvement.
This position will be located on either Midlands Technical College Beltline or Airport Campus.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in education or related field.
- Five (5) years of progressively responsible related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least two (2) to four (4) years of progressive leadership experience related to distance education, online learning, instructional design, or academic technology, with demonstrated leadership in course quality and online program development.
- Experience with accreditation and regulatory requirements related to distance education, accessibility, state authorization, and online learning quality assurance.
- Supervisory experience and demonstrated ability to collaborate across academic and administrative units.
- Ability to lead distance education initiatives, support online program development, develop quality assurance processes, analyze data for continuous improvement, and manage multiple priorities.
