Director of Dining Services

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated individual to lead and manage all dining services operations at our community. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing compliance with company policies and procedures, managing budgets, and ensuring food safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Follow and enforce Company Dining Policy and Procedures
• Purchase all dining food and non-food items ensuring 95% DSSI ordering compliance
• Balance and maintain budgets for raw food and supplies
• Utilize company standard recipes for food production
• Ensure food is served at proper temperatures and portion sizes for food safety and palatability
• Offer residents choice, dignity, and independence in dining according to our hospitality and customer service policy
• Develop and implement operating and cleaning instructions/procedures for the department
• Conduct Pre-meal Dining Stand-Up with service staff to review daily menu details
• Adhere to company and local, state, and county health department regulations
• Ensure dining areas are clean and safely operating, complete monthly Self Sanitation audits
• Interview, manage, train, hire, discipline, and terminate dining staff personnel as needed
• Schedule food service personnel to comply with labor budget

Qualifications

• 3+ years of previous Food Service experience required
• Management experience is not required but a plus
• Serv Safe and/or other required local, county or state certifications
• The ability to switch tasks quickly and often
• A positive and professional attitude
• The ability to give clear direction in a respectful demeanor
• The ability to take pride in the quality and presentation of food prepared
• The ability to maintain cleanliness within the kitchen and dining areas
• The ability to offer patience and effective communication with various personalities
