About the Role
Oversee and control day-to-day operations of all dining services at the community, ensuring compliance with company policies and local, state, and county health department regulations.
Responsibilities
- Follow Company Dining Policy and Procedures, ensuring department personnel compliance.
- Purchase all dining food and non-food items, achieving 95% DSSI ordering compliance.
- Balance and maintain budgets for raw food and supplies.
- Utilize company standard recipes for food production to ensure consistency.
- Ensure food is served at proper temperatures and portion sizes for safety and palatability.
- Offer residents prescribed diets when applicable.
- Drive high satisfaction by providing residents with choice, dignity, and independence in dining.
- Develop and implement operating and cleaning procedures for the department.
- Conduct Pre-meal Dining Stand-Up with service staff to review daily menu details.
- Act as the community’s dietary representative for health department inspections, ensuring compliance and correcting deficiencies.
- Ensure all dining areas are clean and safely operating; complete monthly Self Sanitation audits.
- Interview, manage, train, hire, discipline, and terminate dining staff as needed.
- Oversee scheduling of food service personnel to maintain compliance with labor budget.
Requirements
- 3+ years of previous Food Service experience required.
- Management experience is a plus but not required.
- ServSafe and/or other required local, county, or state certifications.
- Ability to switch tasks quickly and often.
- Positive and professional attitude with strong communication skills.
- Pride in food quality, presentation, and cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas.
- Patience and ability to communicate effectively with diverse personalities.
