We are seeking a motivated, credentialed (ARRT) and inpatient-experienced leader for our Radiology Department at Olathe Hospital in Olathe, KS.

About the Role

As the Director of Diagnostic Imaging, you will oversee the overall operation of the multi-disciplinary imaging department for inpatient and outpatient care at the hospital and the Pavilion. Areas of responsibility include Diagnostic Radiology, Mammography, Ultrasound, MRI, and CT.

This role leads teams across multiple locations experiencing significant growth, collaborates with multiple hospital departments, and communicates with medical staff, executive leadership, and other department leaders to ensure the imaging department meets community needs and aligns with Olathe Hospital’s goals.

Responsibilities

  • Align department goals and objectives with system-wide goals, incorporating team input.
  • Ensure communication between radiologists and the radiology department is patient-centered, friendly, and professional, fostering a positive working relationship.
  • Provide staff with the tools and competency training necessary to complete duties effectively.
  • Review patient care results through documentation and feedback to maintain consistently high standards.
  • Oversee equipment maintenance, quality control, and a cost-effective capital plan for cutting-edge care.
  • Report operational results (positive and negative) with research-backed recommendations for improvement.
  • Develop a realistic budget based on projected volumes and work with the team to eliminate waste.
  • Manage the department within budget, accounting for volume fluctuations.
  • Perform the professional, clinical, and technical competencies required for the assigned unit or department.

Skills and duties may vary by department or unit, and additional responsibilities may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in SPEC Processing, Diagnostic Imaging, Ultrasound, or a related field.
  • 5+ years as an Administrator OR 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in Imaging-focused healthcare management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in SPEC Processing, Diagnostic Imaging, Ultrasound, or a related field.
  • Majority of experience in an inpatient Diagnostic Imaging setting.

Licensure and Certification

  • Radiography (R) – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) upon hire.
  • Licensed Radiologic Technologist (LRT) – Kansas Board of Healing Arts (KSBHA) upon hire.
  • CPR/AED/BLS certification upon hire.
