Director of Development – Nonprofit Fundraising & Partnerships

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing fundraising and development strategies
  • Identifying, writing, and managing grants from foundations, corporations, and government agencies
  • Cultivating relationships with donors, alumni families, community leaders, businesses, and philanthropic partners
  • Supporting annual giving campaigns, sponsorships, fundraising events, and capital initiatives
  • Leading planning and coordination of the school’s annual Gala and major fundraising events
  • Building strategic partnerships with local businesses, organizations, advocacy groups, and community leaders
  • Creating outreach materials, presentations, and storytelling efforts that highlight the school’s mission and student success
  • Cooking school tours, guest visits, and community engagement opportunities
  • Identifying new funding opportunities that support educational, therapeutic, vocational, and enrichment programming
  • Tracking fundraising progress, donor engagement, and grant outcomes
  • Collaborating across departments to support school initiatives and strategic goals

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, Communications, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in fundraising, development, grant writing, donor relations, or nonprofit leadership
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate across teams
  • Experience in education, special education, or nonprofit organizations preferred
  • Experience leading fundraising campaigns or managing donor portfolios preferred
  • Knowledge of program evaluation and data-informed decision making preferred
  • Passion for mission-driven work and supporting individuals with autism and developmental disabilities
