Director of Design

About the role

The Director of Design at Hello Innovation leads the creative vision and design team across multiple digital products impacting tens of millions of people monthly. This role requires setting the direction, building a high-performing team, and delivering impactful user experiences.

Responsibilities

• Define the vision for design across the portfolio
• Hire, coach, and inspire a multidisciplinary design team
• Create scalable design systems and partner with product and engineering teams
• Push the boundaries of design and infuse products with wow moments
• Work closely with leadership and product teams to define bold bets and innovate
• Represent design at the executive level and ensure it’s central to innovation
• Ensure products are intuitive, accessible, and embraced by users

Requirements

• Human-centered design with a deep understanding of users
• Hands-on involvement in the design process from strategy to execution
• Able to build and lead a multidisciplinary design team
• Experience in defining and implementing design systems
• Fluent in product and brand design
• Experience with AI and emerging technologies
• At least 10+ years of experience in software and online experience design

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field
• Proven track record of leading design teams and delivering successful projects
• Experience working in a fast-paced, innovative environment
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
