Director of Data Science
About the role
You will manage consumer analytics and AI to lead a talented team of 7-10 data scientists. In this high-visibility leadership role, you will define the analytics vision and build next-generation, AI-powered capabilities that create seamless and intuitive consumer experiences.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute the analytics vision for the team, driving innovation and growth through advanced analytics and AI.
- Lead a team of 7-10 data scientists, fostering a culture of customer obsession and continuous improvement.
- Architect and scale agentic AI systems and GenAI workflows that enhance the consumer journey and drive operational efficiency.
- Champion a culture of customer obsession, identifying friction points and unlocking new pathways for growth.
- Design and implement measurement frameworks for high-volume product experimentation at scale.
- Communicate complex technical insights to non-technical senior leadership, ensuring clear and strategic conclusions.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in analytics leadership and team management.
- Proven ability to grow high-performing teams and foster a data-driven culture.
- Deep expertise in modern AI applications, with hands-on experience leveraging LLMs and agentic AI frameworks.
- Strong background in statistical analysis, causal inference, and exploratory data analysis.
- Proficiency in Python, advanced SQL, and data visualization platforms (e.g., Tableau, ThoughtSpot).
- Demonstrated experience designing measurement frameworks and leading high-volume product experimentation at scale.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field preferred.

Pay
Pay Range: $157,000 - $275,000
Schedule
Hybrid team members have the following in-office expectations: Hybrid roles in Birmingham, AL typically work in-office at least 2 days per week, with core in-office days on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Hybrid roles in Minneapolis, MN typically work in-office at least 1 day per week on either Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. Hybrid roles in San Francisco, CA typically work in-office at least 1 day per week between Monday and Thursday. Certain roles may require in-office presence on a full-time basis.
