Director of Credentialing

About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Director of Credentialing to join the team of a leader in the Healthcare space. This role will lead credentialing operations with a strong focus on compliance, audit readiness, and process excellence across direct and delegated credentialing activities. The Director will partner with internal stakeholders to strengthen governance, improve workflows, and ensure timely, accurate oversight of credentialing functions. This is a high-impact leadership position that supports regulatory integrity and operational efficiency in a healthcare environment. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

• Oversee direct and delegated credentialing processes
• Ensure compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards
• Lead credentialing operations and improve workflow efficiency
• Conduct audits and document reviews to support ongoing compliance
• Define and monitor key performance indicators related to credentialing
• Serve as a point of contact for credentialing-related inquiries
• Establish governance structures for committee activities

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in medical staff services and credentialing
• CPCS or CPMSM certification is required
• Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent experience
• Proven people leadership experience, including hiring and coaching
• Strong judgment and discretion in handling confidential information
• In-depth knowledge of regulatory bodies such as The Joint Commission and NCQA
• Experience with delegated credentialing oversight and audit readiness

Pay

$130,000 – $145,000 annually
