Director of Corporate Infrastructure

About the role

As the Director of Corporate Infrastructure, you will oversee the design, implementation, and operation of our corporate networks, including the IT Infrastructure DevOps, Security, and SRE teams. You will drive efforts to evolve and build our next-generation corporate network, manage all aspects of our network engineering and operations, and support the multi-terabit backbone network interconnecting edge PoPs, corporate offices, data centers, and cloud gateways. This role requires deep expertise in infrastructure as code, configuration as code, and networking technologies, along with strong business acumen and leadership through data and metrics.

Responsibilities

• Directly manage the software, hardware, and overall health of SoFi’s network.
• Develop the multi-year networking architecture, strategy, and roadmap to support SoFi’s evolving business needs, including subsidiaries.
• Partner with Corporate Infrastructure leadership to develop and implement standards, such as MDF layouts and rack elevations, across all of SoFi.
• Define scope, objectives, key results, and execution plans for technical projects aligned with business goals.
• Foster a collaborative culture that embodies SoFi’s values and enhances employee experience.
• Lead a diverse team through complex technical challenges to achieve strategic, operational, and financial goals.
• Translate business needs into network engineering opportunities to drive strategic agendas.

Requirements

• BS degree in a technical or engineering discipline or relevant years of experience.
• 12+ years of experience in network engineering, software, and distributed systems, including 6+ years managing high-performance teams at scale.
• Technical experience in scaling a multi-vendor networking environment.
• Strong technical craft mastery and engineering discipline.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts internally and externally.

Preferred Qualifications

• Networking certifications (CCNP / CCDE, AWS Certified Advanced Networking, etc).
• Experience with automation tools (Terraform, Datadog, BackBox, Ansible, etc).
• Advanced knowledge of Global Protect and ZScaler VPN solutions.

Pay

US-Based Base Compensation: $192,000 - $330,000 USD. Final base pay will be determined based on individual factors such as experience, skills, and location. This role may also be eligible for a bonus and/or long-term incentives.
