About the Role

A senior leadership position overseeing 10–15 simultaneous home builds from site layout through completion. Directs Construction staff (5–8 people), including Supervisors and Crew Members, as well as subcontractors and vendors. Accountable for project budgets, funding-program compliance, home repair program, and warranty work. Partners with the Director of Construction Strategy & Planning, who handles strategic and organizational planning, while this role focuses on operational leadership and delivery. Full-time with occasional evening and weekend hours required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee 10–15 active builds; develop master budgets and schedules with Strategy & Planning.
  • Coordinate bidding, subcontractors, site layout, and inspections; conduct site visits.
  • Hold staff accountable for budget, quality, and timeline performance.
  • Track grant timelines, prevailing wage, and procurement standards; ensure accurate contractor payment and labor compliance records; partner with finance on reporting.
  • Approve scopes of work, run bidding processes, select and manage contractors, approve payments and change orders, ensure quality and schedule adherence.
  • Lead all home repair program operations—staffing, quoting, scheduling, budgets, quality, and community partnerships.
  • Oversee homeowner warranty requests, contractor coordination, scheduling, and documentation.
  • Develop site safety programs and quality standards; ensure code and regulatory compliance; stay current on industry practices.
  • Maintain and improve Habitat-owned facilities with the Director of Construction Strategy.
  • Manage procurement, delivery schedules, vendor relationships, and material costs.
  • Direct volunteer engagement, safety, training, and supervision on job sites.
  • Support the Executive Director on organizational initiatives as needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of construction project management experience (multiple simultaneous residential projects).
  • Minimum 2 years supervising construction staff or field crews.
  • High school diploma required; degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Experience with Builder Trend or similar project management software preferred; grant compliance or prevailing wage experience a plus.
  • Strong budget management and contractor accountability experience.
  • Modular home construction experience a plus (not required).

Other Requirements

  • Regular local and occasional regional or out-of-state travel; valid driver's license.
  • Flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard office technology.
  • Passes criminal background and sex offender checks.

Physical Demands

  • Mix of office and extensive fieldwork.
  • Walking sites, climbing stairs or ladders, handling materials up to 50 lbs.
  • Outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
  • Extended standing or walking during site visits.

Reports To

Executive Director. Direct oversight of Construction Supervisors, Crew Members, and home-repair staff; close partnership with the Director of Construction Strategy.
