About the role

The Director of Construction leads and manages the day-to-day execution, performance, safety, quality, manpower coordination, customer satisfaction, and profitability of assigned commercial and industrial plumbing projects. This role provides senior operational leadership to Project Executives, Project Managers, the Senior Project Assistant, and other support teams, ensuring construction activities align with Precision Plumbing standards. The Director partners with the President, Field Operations, Pre-Fabrication, VDC, Estimating, Accounting, Safety, and Human Resources to drive operational consistency, strengthen project controls, develop team members, and support long-term growth. This position requires accountability, professionalism, and servant leadership while modeling the company’s mission, vision, and core values.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the successful execution of commercial and industrial plumbing projects.
  • Oversee all project phases from turnover to closeout, ensuring safe, on-schedule, and on-budget delivery in accordance with contract requirements and customer expectations.
  • Monitor project performance, labor productivity, procurement, manpower planning, financial results, risk management, and operational consistency.
  • Serve as a key relationship manager for customers, general contractors, owners, and strategic partners, supporting business development and resolving escalated project concerns.
  • Foster long-term client relationships.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Management, or related field; equivalent industry experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 10 years of construction operations or project management experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience managing project teams, portfolios, or construction operations personnel.
  • Proven experience managing multiple projects, budgets, schedules, change orders, and customer relationships.
  • Strong understanding of project management, field operations, contract administration, procurement, risk management, and financial controls.
  • Experience supporting or managing annual construction revenue of $50 million preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Procore, Vista, Bluebeam, Kojo, and construction management technology preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites, customer locations, and company meetings as required.

Pay

Annual salary: $140,000+ based on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated skills.
