About the Division

The Division of Intercollegiate Athletics (DIA) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign supports 21 intercollegiate varsity sports competing in the Big Ten Conference and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). Founded in 1892, DIA provides resources for over 500 student-athletes through a comprehensive ecosystem of 35 departments and 300+ staff, including 80+ varsity coaches. The mission of DIA is to Unify, Develop, Inspire, and Achieve, fostering life-changing experiences for student-athletes in academics, competition, and personal growth.

About the Role

The Director of Compliance will support compliance and student-athlete success while contributing to the broader strategic priorities of DIA. This role plays a critical part in ensuring adherence to NCAA, Big Ten Conference, and institutional rules, ultimately helping to create a transformative experience for student-athletes.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of and ensure compliance with NCAA, Big Ten Conference, and institutional rules.
• Support eligibility certification and advising for student-athletes.
• Prioritize and contribute to the life-changing student-athlete experience.
• Adhere to University, DIA, Big Ten, and NCAA regulations.
• Demonstrate professionalism and integrity to build trust among student-athletes and staff.
• Commit to the Athletics Department and University’s mission and values.
• Work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and team travel as needed.
• Perform accurate, detail-oriented work with a focus on compliance and student-athlete support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in athletics, academic administration, student affairs, enrollment management, academic advising, or organizational administration; equivalent education/experience considered.
• Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA rules.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree.
• Thorough knowledge of NCAA rules, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in computer applications.
• Previous employment at an NCAA member institution, with experience in eligibility certification and/or advising.

Appointment Information

This is a 100% full-time Academic Professional position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after September 21, 2026.

Pay

Salary range is $75,000 - $85,000, commensurate with experience.
