About the Role

We are partnering with a well-respected and financially strong Property & Casualty insurer that continues to invest in long-term growth. As the organization expands, it is seeking a Director of Compliance to play a pivotal leadership role in designing, enhancing, and driving its enterprise compliance strategy. This position offers the opportunity to build and influence the compliance framework of a growing insurance organization, serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, and help shape how compliance risk, governance, and controls are managed across the enterprise. The Director of Compliance will have a highly visible platform within the organization and will work closely with executive leadership, Product, Underwriting, Claims, and Operations to ensure compliance considerations are embedded into strategic business decisions. This individual will help establish the standards, controls, and governance structures that support continued growth while maintaining a strong regulatory foundation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing evolution of the company's enterprise compliance program.
  • Establish compliance policies, standards, governance frameworks, and controls across all business functions.
  • Evaluate regulatory developments and translate complex requirements into practical business guidance.
  • Identify, assess, and prioritize compliance risks while driving effective mitigation strategies.
  • Design and oversee compliance monitoring, validation, and reporting processes that support a strong control environment.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on compliance risk, governance, and regulatory matters.
  • Influence major business, operational, and strategic initiatives to ensure regulatory considerations are addressed early in the decision-making process.
  • Lead interactions with regulators, including examinations, inquiries, market conduct reviews, and reporting requirements.
  • Partner with leaders across Product, Underwriting, Claims, Operations, and Finance to strengthen enterprise compliance practices.
  • Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing compliance team while fostering a culture of accountability and ethical conduct.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in insurance compliance, legal, regulatory affairs, or a related function.
  • Strong understanding of Property & Casualty insurance operations and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience developing, managing, or enhancing compliance programs and governance frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders across multiple business functions.
  • Proven leadership capabilities and experience managing teams and complex initiatives.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
