About the Opportunity

The organization offers drone delivery as a safe, fast, and sustainable solution for last-mile logistics. Consumer demand for on-demand services is growing, but current delivery methods are inefficient, costly, and contribute to road accidents and air pollution. The organization’s fleet of highly automated delivery drones transports small packages directly from businesses to homes on-demand, in minutes. The technology is designed for easy integration into existing delivery and logistics networks, providing a scalable drone delivery solution for a broad range of businesses. The organization’s mission is to create the preferred means of delivery for the planet.

Responsibilities

  • Design a holistic internal and external communications strategy to support the organization's expansion into complex metropolitan markets.
  • Normalize drone delivery for consumers, shaping future behavior while maintaining the innovative appeal of the service.
  • Drive B2B and B2C communications to position the organization as a viable, present-day delivery option for restaurant and retail partners.
  • Partner with Government Affairs and Public Policy teams to engage with federal aviation authorities, policymakers, and local municipal governments on regulatory landscapes and community concerns (noise, privacy, airspace safety).
  • Oversee comprehensive executive communications, thought leadership, internal communications, and crisis communications frameworks.
  • Distill complex autonomous technology into compelling, authentic stories for consumers, partners, policymakers, tech press, and employees.
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing communications team, fostering collaboration, accountability, and excellence across disciplines.

Requirements

  • 20+ years of experience in strategic communications, public relations, or corporate affairs, ideally within scaled consumer brands.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Policy, Business, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing reputational risk and building corporate narratives for companies undergoing rapid commercial scaling or regulatory scrutiny.
  • Proven track record of managing multifaceted communications teams across internal, external, product, and policy disciplines.
  • Exceptional executive presence and experience advising C-suite leadership on thought leadership and crisis management.
