Director of Communications

About the Role

Koch Engineered Solutions (KES) is looking for an experienced Communications Director. This role is preferably based in Wichita, Kansas, with relocation assistance available for qualified candidates. The position is not eligible for VISA Sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Lead the communications vision and direction, providing consulting expertise across businesses, capabilities, and operations.
• Develop and execute strategic plans, supervising the communications team.
• Partner with leaders to advance understanding and connection to the vision, Principle Based Management™ philosophy, culture, priorities, and key initiatives.
• Craft and deliver strategic communications plans for internal audiences, including presentations, town halls, videos, and other content.
• Own the KES corporate brand, deploying it internally and externally to position KES as a trusted partner and employer of choice.
• Develop and lead the communications function by setting vision, priorities, and operating model, while managing and developing talent.
• Establish and advance partnerships across KES business units, engaging cross-functionally to shape direction for company vision, culture, and initiatives.
• Identify strategic priorities, develop plans, and optimize for superior outcomes.
• Deliver strategic counsel to stakeholders and collaborate with humility to improve results.
• Drive operational excellence and practice division of labor principles.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience with strategic communications planning, development, and execution.
• Experience leading talent development and supervision of a team and/or capability.
• Experience working with executives and senior leadership, providing respectful challenge.

Skills

• Strong understanding of business operations, financial drivers, customer value, and corporate communications' role in strategic priorities (preferred).
• Experience with manufacturing and/or Fortune 500 companies (preferred).
• Ability to understand complex manufacturing and field-based services industries (preferred).
• Experience managing multiple priorities and corporate branding (preferred).
• Familiarity with TailoredMail, SharePoint, Firstup, and other enterprise communication tools (preferred).
• Experience with traditional and social media communications (preferred).

Pay

We anticipate paying $135,000 - $165,000 per year for this role, with eligibility for variable pay.
