About the role
The Director of Collections and Exhibitions oversees the preservation, curation, and presentation of the museum’s extensive collections and exhibitions. This role requires a deep understanding of historical artifacts and a passion for sharing history with the public.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the care and maintenance of the museum’s collections, including conservation efforts and storage solutions.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance the visitor experience through engaging exhibitions and programs.
- Collaborate with curators and other staff to ensure the accuracy and relevance of exhibits.
- Manage the acquisition and disposal of new objects and materials.
- Work closely with the marketing team to promote the museum’s exhibitions and events.
Requirements
- A Master’s degree in History, Museum Studies, or a related field.
- At least 7 years of experience in museum curation, collections management, or related fields.
- Proven ability to manage and lead a team.
- Experience with digital media and virtual tours.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of historical artifacts and their preservation techniques.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with budget management and grant writing.

Pay
Salary range: $80,000 - $90,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
Schedule
Full-time position, Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
