Director of Clinical Services - Home Care

About the Role

Care Advantage is seeking a Director of Clinical Services who will stay hands‑on with patients while providing clinical leadership across Fairfax, VA and the surrounding Northern Virginia region. The role blends direct patient care with supervision of nursing staff, quality improvement, compliance, and growth initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an active patient census and provide direct clinical care, including assessments, care plans, and hands‑on visits.
• Travel regularly to office locations throughout Fairfax and surrounding counties to support staff, clients, and field operations.
• Serve as an emergency office‑nurse backup for all Care Advantage locations.
• Facilitate office nurse meetings, lead ongoing staff development, and mentor nursing teams.
• Participate in hiring, training, and performance evaluations for office nursing staff.
• Manage field‑staff education, monthly in‑services, and competency testing.
• Oversee Medicaid Personal Care Aide training compliance and CPR/clinical training support.
• Audit client charts quarterly and monitor overall quality of care.
• Conduct level‑of‑care reviews and service authorizations.
• Review and update clinical policies and procedures annually.
• Lead the annual Quality Improvement Meeting.
• Partner on OLC and Medicaid audit readiness, including corrective‑action plans.
• Educate office teams and clients on the full range of available services.
• Participate in community outreach and awareness efforts to expand Care Advantage’s footprint.

Requirements

• Active RN license in Virginia (or ability to obtain one).
• 5+ years of home‑care supervisory experience with strong knowledge of home‑care rules and regulations.
• Demonstrated leadership, people‑management, and marketing instincts.
• Ability to balance field work with supervisory responsibilities.
• Strong communication skills and a track record of dependable, high‑quality work.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel regularly across Fairfax/Northern Virginia, including occasional evenings or weekends.
• Physical ability to perform home‑care visits (standing, bending, lifting up to 10 lb).
