About the role

The Lead Clinical Nutrition Manager oversees the clinical nutrition department, focusing on nutritional care for patients. Responsibilities include planning, organizing, and directing nutrition guidelines, initiatives, and operations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates, organizes, and delegates operational aspects of the department to ensure effective and efficient delivery of nutrition services.
• Maintains quality of services and monitors and evaluates the same.
• Collaborates with physicians, nursing staff, and other health care providers to ensure comprehensive, coordinated nutritional therapy.
• Develops and implements diabetes programs, performs consults and rounds on diabetic patients, and educates patients and families.
• Communicates with other health care professionals, families, and referral agencies regarding nutritional plans.
• Maintains professional certification and mentors interdisciplinary health care team members.
• Participates in performance improvement projects and inservice programs.

Requirements

• Registered Dietician (RD) or Registered Dietician Nutritionist (RDN) through the Commission of Dietetic Registration (CDR).
• Licensed Dietitian through the West Virginia Board of Licensed Dietitians.
• Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist through the Certification Board for Diabetes Care and Education or obtain within one year of hire.
• Five (5) years of management experience in healthcare food service or clinical nutrition management.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Nutrition preferred.

• Good verbal and written communication skills.
