About the Role

This is a College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific (COMP) Administration-level position within Western University of Health Sciences, offered in conjunction with a faculty appointment. The combined administrative and faculty roles comprise a full-time position (1.0 FTE). The salary range reflects total compensation for both responsibilities.

The Director of Clinical Curriculum for COMP oversees, develops, implements, and evaluates the third- and fourth-year clinical curriculum for Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) students at the Pomona campus. The position provides leadership in curricular quality, accreditation compliance, and student academic success, including preparation for licensure examinations. The Director collaborates with the Clinical Education Department, Office of Accreditation and Educational Effectiveness, Office of Student Affairs, and other stakeholders to support student progression, identify learners needing academic support, and implement interventions. This role contributes to continuous quality improvement of the clinical curriculum and aligns with the mission and strategic goals of COMP.

Responsibilities

• Oversee, develop, implement, and evaluate the third- and fourth-year clinical curriculum for DO students.
• Provide leadership in curricular quality, accreditation compliance, and student academic success, including licensure examination preparation.
• Collaborate with the Clinical Education Department, Office of Accreditation and Educational Effectiveness, Office of Student Affairs, and other stakeholders.
• Support student progression, identify learners in need of academic support, and implement appropriate interventions.
• Contribute to continuous quality improvement of the clinical curriculum.
• Prepare, analyze, and present professional reports, data summaries, and proposals.
• Establish priorities, manage competing responsibilities, and implement strategic initiatives.

Requirements

• Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) or Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from an accredited institution.
• Completion of an accredited residency training program.
• Board certification in a relevant medical specialty.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in an academic medical environment.

Qualifications

• Preferred: Minimum of two (2) years of experience in undergraduate or graduate medical education.
• Demonstrated experience in curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation.
• Experience with learner assessment, remediation strategies, and board examination preparation (e.g., COMLEX-USA Level 2, USMLE Step 2).
• Familiarity with accreditation standards and reporting processes (e.g., COCA).

Pay

Pay scale reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries. Individual pay is determined by job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and work location. The range below reflects base salary only.

• Minimum: $220,000.00 Annually
• Maximum: $230,000.00 Annually
