Director of Class Giving

The mission of West Point Association of Graduates (WPAOG) is to 'Serve West Point and the Long Gray Line.' WPAOG is both the alumni association and foundation for the United States Military Academy (USMA) at West Point. Our vision is to ensure the Long Gray Line remains the most highly connected alumni body in the world. USMA is renowned as the world's preeminent leadership development institution, with a student body of 4,400 cadets. Each year, approximately 1,000 cadets graduate and are commissioned as second lieutenants in the U.S. Army.

About the role

Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Development and serving as a member of the Development Office's senior management team, the Director of Class Giving is responsible for the overall strategy, implementation, and management of all USMA class gift campaigns. The Director leads a five-member Class Giving team consisting of three Class Giving Officers, a First-Class Gift Program Manager, and a Class Giving Coordinator.

Responsibilities

• Establish departmental priorities, oversee campaign planning and execution, and manage the department's operating budget.
• Achieve annual goals related to class cash receipts, new pledges, and alumni participation.
• Serve as the primary fundraising advisor for a portfolio of reunion classes while providing strategic leadership for all class gift campaigns.
• Develop and implement fundraising strategies that align alumni philanthropic interests with the highest priorities of the United States Military Academy and the West Point Association of Graduates, working closely with class leaders and volunteers.
• Collaborate extensively with Major & Leadership Gift Officers, Annual Giving, Communications & Marketing, Alumni Support, Finance, Athletics, and Academy leadership to ensure successful campaign execution and exceptional volunteer and donor experience.
• Oversee the First-Class Gift Program in partnership with the First-Class Gift Program Manager, helping educate cadets on the importance of philanthropy and lifelong engagement with West Point.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Eight to ten years of progressively responsible fundraising, advancement, nonprofit leadership, or related management experience.
• Familiarity with the United States Military Academy, alumni relations, and higher education advancement preferred.
• Must live within commuting distance of West Point.

Pay

The salary range will be approximately $115,000 to $125,000, depending on skills and experience.
