Director of Building Automation (Nashville, TN)

About the role

As Director of Building Automation, you will define and govern automation strategy for OCI’s global data center portfolio. This role sets standards and direction for BMS, controls architecture, cybersecurity, and analytics that underpin safe and efficient operations at scale. You will oversee execution of organizational strategy around evaluating scoped sites against Oracle’s requirements for data centers, ensure collaboration with multidisciplinary internal and external teams to design power, cooling, and air flow for data center infrastructure, supervise failure analyses and emergency responses, and manage assessment processes for data center infrastructure and plans from the Build and Engineering Services (BES) team. The role also drives organizational research goals around innovative data center designs, materials, and methods.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategy and standards for BMS, DCIM, and automation systems across the fleet.
• Oversee design, integration, and commissioning of major automation and controls initiatives.
• Define alarm philosophy, controls architecture, and cybersecurity requirements for OT systems.
• Drive adoption of smart building technologies, analytics, and digital twin capabilities.
• Manage vendors and develop technical talent; champion continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in controls engineering, automation strategy, or mission-critical facility automation leadership.
• Deep knowledge of BMS/SCADA/DCS platforms, multi-vendor environments, and standards development.

Skills

Qualifications

Pay

Hiring range in USD: $146,300 - $306,400 per year. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
