Job Summary
Develops, executes, and manages a comprehensive Annual Giving Department Artificial Virtual Engagement Officer program and annual operational plan as part of the division's campaign planning process for the long-term expansion of the current donor pool and donations from alumni, parents, and individuals. Oversees the AI-enabled program that identifies prospects and retains and upgrades donors by employing data-driven methodologies and techniques to help ensure that technology is scalable, provides personalized outreach, and integrates effectively with existing fundraising efforts. Focuses on effective communication and solicitation activities within specific market segments identified as having the greatest growth potential. Manages a portfolio of annual giving prospects and donors. Documents contact and prospect moves, tracks progress using Raiser's Edge, and adheres to University Advancement prospect management guidelines and protocol. Executes and manages a comprehensive annual giving solicitation and outreach schedule encompassing multiple channels, phone, in-person, direct mail, digital, and social across multiple campaigns. Reviews and approves related annual giving communications, including direct mail appeals, brochures, postcards, email communications, and form letter acknowledgments. Collaborates and communicates effectively with advancement communications, university communications, advancement services, alumni relations, and academic units to conceptualize and maintain a strong annual fund brand and message, ensure campaign consistency, and support data-informed decision-making. Serves as a liaison with leadership and volunteer groups supporting the University's annual giving goals, ensuring alignment between AI-enabled engagement strategies and broader institutional fundraising priorities. Produces and evaluates reports related to annual giving campaigns and AI-enabled programs. Assists with the preparation of annual budgets and program projects, strategic planning, and goal planning evaluation. Monitors budgets against articulated goals and objectives throughout the year. Performs other related duties as assigned or as directed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and eight (8) years of experience with four (4) years directing and managing all aspects of various Annual Giving programs. Supervises/manages subordinate staff. Manages Annual Giving programs university-wide.
Desired Qualifications
- Fundraising or similar experience in higher education or other comparable organization, or the equivalent professional experience in sales, marketing, training, or public relations.
- Experience with cold calling and one-on-one personal fundraising solicitations.
- Possess an understanding and working knowledge of Raiser's Edge or a relational database system.
