Director of Accounting & Financial Reporting

About the role

The Director of Accounting & Financial Reporting will lead enterprise-wide accounting operations across multiple business units, ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, accounting operations, internal controls, and financial compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting operations, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and Fixed Assets.
• Owning the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP while maintaining strong internal controls and accounting policies.
• Oversee preparation of financial statements, including the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow reporting.
• Analyze financial performance, identify trends and variances, and provide meaningful insights that support executive decision-making.
• Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, and other business leaders to improve financial performance.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, inventory accounting, and working capital management.
• Drive continuous improvement by enhancing accounting processes, reporting capabilities, and operational efficiencies.
• Develop, mentor, and inspire a high-performing accounting team while fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
• 8–12+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
• Experience leading accounting teams and managing financial reporting functions.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Experience with month-end close, consolidations, reconciliations, payroll, fixed assets, and general ledger accounting.
• Experience with inventory and cost accounting in a manufacturing, agriculture, food production, or similar operational environment is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate financial data into business recommendations.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP/accounting systems.
