Core Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with TEA, federal, and charter authorizer requirements related to academics
- Oversee processes supporting submissions tied to accountability, grants (e.g., CSP), and program reporting
- Develop SOPs and internal controls to ensure audit readiness
- Serve as point of contact for academic compliance-related audits and reviews
- Oversee Campus Improvement plans
- Oversee District Improvement Plans
Systems, Data & Continuous Improvement
- Oversee academic systems that support execution (SIS, gradebook, scheduling structures)
- Ensure systems are configured to align with academic policies and expectations (transcripts, etc)
- Identify academic operational gaps and drive continuous improvement across campuses
- Partner with data/assessment teams to ensure systems enable accurate and timely reporting
Grading Philosophy & Policy
- Lead development and refinement of network-wide grading philosophy and policies
- Ensure grading practices align with academic expectations and accountability goals
- Establish clear guidelines for grading consistency across campuses and grade levels
- Partner with academic leadership to align grading with instructional priorities
District-wide Gradebook Configuration
- Oversee configuration and management of the student information system
- Ensure grading categories, weights, and policies are implemented consistently across campuses
- Maintain system integrity and alignment with grading philosophy
- Cookordination system updates and changes with IT and campus teams
Training & Calibration
- Develop and deliver training for campus leaders and staff on grading policies, systems, and expectations
- Lead calibration efforts to ensure consistency in grading practices across schools
- Provide tools, exemplars, and guidance to support implementation
- Support onboarding of new leaders and teachers in academic operational systems
Monitoring & Accountability
- Monitor campus adherence to grading policies, academic systems, and compliance expectations
- Conduct audits of gradebooks, academic processes, and implementation of fidelity
- Identify inconsistencies and partner with campuses to resolve gaps
- Escalate systemic issues and recommend solutions
Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Serve as a key liaison between Academics, Operations, IT, and PEIMS
- Parel with Director of Assessment & Data Literacy to align systems with assessment needs
- Collaborate with campus leaders to ensure operational feasibility of academic expectations
- Lead cross-functional initiatives that improve academic execution at scale
