About the role

The Director of Nursing provides leadership, direction, and support to the Hospital's nursing operations. Reporting to the VP/CNO, this role is accountable for day-to-day nursing operations, including nursing strategy, quality measures, patient care, and patient experience. The Director develops and implements site-specific patient-focused management programs, nursing practice guidelines, quality indicators, financial plans, and evidence-based practices. This position mentors and evaluates nurse managers, drives initiatives to improve nurse and staff retention, and oversees the integration of the care delivery system to meet patient care needs within financial, regulatory (DNV, DOH), and evidence-based guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct nursing operations to ensure high-quality patient care and experience.
  • Develop and implement nursing strategy, practice guidelines, and quality indicators.
  • Create innovative financial plans and evidence-based practices to support nursing operations.
  • Coach, mentor, and evaluate nurse managers to foster professional development.
  • Drive programs and initiatives to improve nurse and staff retention.
  • Oversee the integration of the care delivery system to meet regulatory and evidence-based standards.
  • Ensure compliance with DNV, DOH, and other regulatory guidelines.

Requirements

  • Current NYS Registration as a Registered Professional Nurse.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing or related field.
  • Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare, Business Administration, or a related field.

Qualifications

  • Five years of experience in patient care delivery.
  • Five years of progressive management experience in healthcare, including budget/financial systems, quality improvement, and knowledge of regulatory and accrediting agency standards.
  • Experience leading complex teams through planning, project implementation, and program development.

Schedule

  • Full-time, onsite position.
  • Scheduled work hours: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
  • No weekend/holiday requirement.
  • No on-call requirement.
  • Bi-weekly standard hours: 75.00.

Pay

Salary Range: $125,769.93 – $172,933.70 (bi-weekly pay frequency). Wage determination based on candidate’s experience, qualifications, internal equity, and applicable collective bargaining agreements.
