About the role

This position involves providing care and services to meet the needs of assigned facilities through strategic and accountable leadership. Key responsibilities include establishing, implementing, and adhering to policies and procedures, coordinating orientation programs, developing and engaging staff, and leading quality improvement activities.

Responsibilities

  • Total nursing care of residents and accuracy of nursing care records
  • Selecting prospective residents based on nursing care needs and personnel competencies
  • Overseeing Federal/State SNF Conditions of Participation including admissions, MDS/Care planning process, restorative nursing, and care delivery
  • Establishing and implementing policies/procedures for total care of residents, including nursing activities, social services, and delegated medical care
  • Determining staffing patterns to ensure quality nursing care 24 hours/day
  • Participating in planning, decision-making, and budgeting for the facility
  • Developing policies relevant to quality of care and remaining aware of safety needs for staff and residents
  • Coordinating the QAPI program and facilitating staff participation in QAPI
  • Delegating and monitoring non-nursing responsibilities to other staff
  • Interviewing, hiring, developing, training, and retaining employees; planning, assigning, and leading work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems

Requirements

The individual must be able to work the hours specified and have visual acuity adequate to perform position duties, the ability to communicate effectively, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds. Must have an active license in the state of practice and 4-6 years in long-term/skilled care or similar experience.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN) - Board of Nursing
  • Active license in the state of practice upon hire
  • 4-6 years in long-term/skilled care or similar experience
  • Up to 5% employer matching contribution for retirement

Skills

Must have the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, coordinate work flow with other team members, and maintain confidentiality. Must comply with safety principles, laws, regulations, and standards associated with CMS, The Joint Commission, DHHS, and OSHA if applicable.

$125,000-150,000 annually

Schedule

Primarily days with night, weekend and holiday on-call involvement
