About the role
The Director of Nursing Clinical Operations is responsible for leading and coordinating the simulation, skills lab, and clinical placement functions that support FRCC’s nursing programs across three campuses. This role requires strong relationships with healthcare partners to ensure students have access to high-quality clinical experiences.
Responsibilities
- Guide day-to-day operations of simulation, skills labs, and clinical coordination across campuses, ensuring consistency, safety, and readiness.
- Establish and maintain clear processes and shared practices that streamline workflows and support effective program delivery.
- Carefully coordinate scheduling, equipment, inventory, and learning environments to support reliable, high-quality student experiences.
- Promote equitable and accessible learning environments by integrating ADA accommodation, inclusive teaching practices, and universal design strategies into clinical, simulation, and lab spaces.
- Partner with faculty to design and implement simulation and lab experiences aligned with program outcomes and best practices.
- Provide training and support in simulation pedagogy, including scenario development and debriefing approaches.
- Foster consistency in instructional practices across campuses by sharing tools, training, and resources.
- Coordinate clinical placements, ensuring students have access to high-quality, compliant learning sites.
- Build and sustain relationships with healthcare organizations to support student learning and workforce alignment.
- Maintain clinical agreements, requirements, and communication with partners.
- Ensure simulation, lab, and clinical practices align with Colorado Board of Nursing and accreditation requirements.
- Maintain documentation, support audits, and prepare for reviews or site visits, ensuring secure storage, confidentiality, and compliance with FERPA and institutional policies.
- Use data and feedback to strengthen processes and enhance student learning experiences.
- Support and guide simulation technicians and clinical coordination staff in their day-to-day work and professional growth.
- Partner with department chairs, program directors, and faculty to align operations with program goals.
- Contribute to a collaborative, inclusive environment that supports student success and employee engagement.

- Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in nursing from a regionally accredited program
- Unencumbered RN license to practice in Colorado
- CHSE Certification
- 5 years in a leadership role, 2 years in a simulation environment in the past 5 years
- Demonstrated knowledge of state board and accreditation requirements
- Proficiency with nursing education technologies, simulation platforms
Qualifications
- Education/Training & Work Experience:
- Master’s degree in nursing from a regionally accredited program
- Unencumbered RN license to practice in Colorado
- CHSE Certification
- 5 years in a leadership role, 2 years in a simulation environment in the past 5 years
- Demonstrated knowledge of state board and accreditation requirements
- Proficiency with nursing education technologies, simulation platforms
- Preferred Education/Training & Work Experience:
- Ability to communicate effectively in Spanish

Pay
$104,000 - $109,200 annually.
Schedule
The position allows for occasional remote work but requires a strong on-campus presence and occasional travel to all three FRCC campuses.
