About the role

The Director, Neuroscience Commercial Strategy will drive commercial and market innovation strategy and business operations projects across the Neuroscience business, which includes Psychiatry, Migraine, Parkinson’s Disease, and BOTOX Therapeutics.

Responsibilities

  • Lead key commercial on-market strategic initiatives that lay the foundation to maximize patient impact of in-line brands.
  • Work with brand teams to develop launch strategy for launch-ready products.
  • Lead strategic initiatives across Neuroscience that identify longer-term growth (e.g., strategy long-range planning, BD assessment, roadmap, and brand planning).
  • Execute opportunities to drive operational effectiveness within and across business units with key cross-functional partners (e.g., Finance and HR).
  • Lead development of business and operational reviews for senior Commercial and Executive leadership.
  • Foster positive working relationships and collaborate with franchise brand teams, Finance, Medical, R&D, Market Access, Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR), Market Analytics and Business Insights (MABI), Sales Training, Sales Force Effectiveness, Regulatory, Customer Experience, and other cross-franchise teams to develop strategic and operational projects.
  • Demonstrate ability to identify and scope key strategic initiatives and lead project execution end-to-end.
  • Influence without authority while building a collaborative and integrated approach across the organization.
  • Support data analytical execution, create strong narratives on insights, and communicate with key stakeholders and executive leadership.

Requirements

  • BA/BS required; MBA or advanced degree (PhD, MD) preferred.
  • At least 5-7 years of professional industry experience with a successful track record in management consulting (at least 2+ years), pipeline management, or pharmaceutical marketing with strong analytical and strategic marketing skills.
  • Previous experience in pharma R&D, Corporate Strategy, Brand Management, and/or Marketing.
  • Deep understanding and experience with Neuroscience and Eye Care products, both in-line and in development.
  • Demonstrated excellent communication and presentation skills across various organizational levels and disciplines, including senior executives.

  • Ability to communicate ideas clearly and simplify complex concepts.
  • Good financial acumen with an understanding of P&L drivers.

  • Experience with matrix-based teams and project management.

  • Intellectual curiosity, adaptability, and ability to change course rapidly.
  • Effective at leading inclusive and transparent team meetings with internal and external partners.
  • Excellent command of MS PowerPoint and MS Excel.
  • Experience working with pre-launch, launch, and/or on-market commercial teams preferred.

Schedule

This role requires at least three days onsite (Tuesday through Thursday) in the respective AbbVie location.
