About the role

The Director Mission Impact Investing at Britebound is responsible for overseeing the investment portfolio to ensure it aligns with the organization's mission and program goals. Key responsibilities include aligning investment strategies with Britebound’s mission, sourcing potential investments, conducting due diligence, and monitoring performance.

Responsibilities

• Align investment strategies and outcomes with Britebound’s mission and program goals
• Develop investment thesis and selection criteria for filtering investable opportunities
• Communicate with and represent Britebound’s Investment Committee
• Sourcing potential investments
• Conducting due diligence and recommending investments to Program Directors
• Negotiating investment terms
• Maintaining proper documentation for accounting and audit purposes
• Providing technical assistance to investees
• Ensuring the right balance of innovation, return expectations, and risk appetite
• Updating Britebound’s investment principles based on feedback from the Investment Committee
• Developing metrics for assessing mission investment performance and reporting to stakeholders
• Maximizing and amplifying overall social impact across investments and programs
• Regularly communicating and presenting investment portfolio activities, results, strategy, and lessons to key stakeholders

Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in private equity, venture capital, investment banking, or management consulting
• Proven ability to oversee teams, manage complex transactions, and cultivate professional relationships
• Excellent accounting and finance knowledge
• High degree of honesty and integrity with commitment to Britebound’s mission
• Extensive network of social investors and experience collaborating with other funders and investors
• Superior understanding and proficiency in negotiating, structuring, and overseeing equity and debt investments
• Extensive experience working with small, highly accomplished teams to drive investment results
• Demonstrated leadership presence; strong skills in verbal and written communication, relationship building, networking, and public speaking
• Team player who works well in a collegial environment

Qualifications

• Minimum of an MBA and/or CFA designation
• Strong grounding in finance and investing
