Director, Mechanical Engineering
Responsibilities
- Oversee the preparation and final approval of project contract documents produced by third party design consultants.
- Ensure that project designs are completed on schedule and within budget.
- Supply engineering expertise and guidance on projects, operations, and systems within the company’s existing facilities.
- Develop and maintain equipment specifications for owner furnished and contractor installed (OFCI) equipment and systems.
- Support the procurement of owner furnished and contractor installed equipment and systems through vendor submittal reviews, approvals, and factory witness testing.
- Maintain and update the legacy basis of design documents.
- Assist in development of new basis of designs for emerging business needs.
- Identify, recommend, and implement new technologies and systems to maximize energy and cost efficiency of the company’s data centers.
- Communicate and implement engineering and design policies, practices, standards, and security measures to ensure effective and consistent operations.
- Maintain knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in engineering and design trends related to the organization's industry.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Must be eligible to work in the United States.
Must pass comprehensive background screening.
Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) Registration is Preferred (Mechanical).
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the design of data centers and specification of HVAC equipment for mission critical facilities to be considered for Director level position.
- Candidates with 5-7 years’ experience in design of data centers can apply but will be considered for a Manager level position.
- Expertise in IT cooling technologies, both air and direct to chip liquid.
- Understanding of mechanical cooling system control.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint.
- Baseline proficiency of AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Adobe Acrobat.
