Director, Litigation and Regulatory

For our client, we are seeking a Director, Litigation and Regulatory to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. This role will lead consumer litigation and regulatory matters within a fast-paced financial services environment. You will partner closely with internal stakeholders and outside counsel to manage risk, support compliant business operations, and deliver practical legal guidance across the organization. The position also calls for strong judgment in privacy, data protection, and process improvement, with an emphasis on scalable legal support. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $150,000 – $180,000 annually Responsibilities Manage all stages of consumer litigation and disputes, ensuring strategic resolution Directly oversee outside counsel engagements, including budgeting and case management Own and execute litigation holds and the discovery process, maintaining efficiency Track and respond to regulatory inquiries, ensuring compliance with relevant authorities Serve as the legal authority on privacy and data protection frameworks and legislation Utilize AI for improving workflows and automating legal processes Provide practical legal counsel across various functional teams, creating scalable resources Qualifications J.D. from an accredited law school with active bar membership in at least one US jurisdiction 5-7 years of combined law firm and in-house experience in consumer financial services Deep understanding of consumer finance regulations, including Reg Z, Reg B, FCRA, FDCPA, TCPA, and UDAAP Proven track record of independently managing litigation and regulatory inquiries Excellent writing skills, with a focus on clarity and direct answers Proficient in leveraging AI tools for enhanced legal practice and productivity Benefits Unlimited PTO, volunteer hours, and sabbatical opportunities Comprehensive life, STD/LTD, medical, dental, and vision insurance Heavily discounted gym membership 401k plan with 6% matching Work alongside a collaborative team with a positive culture Join a rapidly growing FinTech company with enthusiastic colleagues Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
