Summary
The Director of Leverage Finance Portfolio Management is a senior portfolio management role responsible for managing a portfolio of commercial loans within the Leverage Finance group. Key responsibilities include underwriting quality, portfolio monitoring, and portfolio administration.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Underwrite complex commercial loans in accordance with Huntington credit policies.
- Maintain a portfolio of commercial loans, proactively identifying emerging risks and escrow.
- Manage delinquencies, collateral exceptions, borrowing base and covenant compliance, product renewals, etc., as applicable.
- Attend client calls (virtual or in-person) with Relationship Management and other Bank partners. Establish positioning as secondary bank contact for the portfolio of covered clients.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market/industry trends. Conduct industry and market research using numerous resources available.
- Aid in training and/or mentoring Analyst, Associate, and Associate Director level colleagues.
- Provide accurate and timely front-end guidance to Relationship Management colleagues, drawing upon knowledge of Huntington credit policies and credit culture.
- Review and negotiate credit documentation in consultation with legal counsel.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 8+ years of experience in an underwriting or commercial banking environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal credit training
- Experience in the syndicated loan market
- Proficiency in S&P Capital IQ
- High level of professionalism and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (particularly Microsoft Excel)
