Responsibilities
- Advise on CAS applicability and compliance with DCAA/DCMA oversight
- Counsel stakeholders on FAR and DFARS cost principles and accounting treatment
- Support development and implementation of compliance policies and controls
- Lead compliance assessments, audits, and government inquiries responses
- Partner with Finance and Accounting teams on federal cost accounting rules
- Provide legal guidance on TINA, including cost data requirements and negotiation strategies
- Monitor and interpret regulatory changes affecting accounting practices
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active state bar membership
- Minimum 10 years of experience advising on federal government contract compliance, particularly CAS and TINA
- Strong grasp of FAR, DFARS, DCAA/DCMA processes, and cost accounting principles
- Demonstrated experience with inter-entity compliance and shared services cost allocation issues
- Typically requires 14 years of relevant legal experience or 12 years with an advanced degree
