Summary

The Director of Laboratory Services plays a crucial role in overseeing the laboratory department, fostering a collaborative environment, and ensuring compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage the day-to-day operations of the laboratory department.
• Hire, terminate, monitor, evaluate, and coach employees.
• Evaluate department activities against established standards, policies, and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with CAP and other regulatory standards.
• Develop and implement new policies and procedures to enhance customer and employee relationships.
• Evaluate reimbursement policies and practices.
• Create and monitor the department's budget.
• Maintain open communication with medical directors and hospital administration.
• Interact with physician offices and nursing homes to maintain positive relationships.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Microbiology, Biology, or a related field from an approved college or university.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of managerial experience in a laboratory setting.
