About the role

Inventory accuracy is the foundation of everything we promise our merchants. As Director of Inventory Quality Control, you'll own that promise across our global fulfillment network. You'll set the strategy, standards, and systems that keep millions of units accounted for — from inbound receiving through putaway, picking, cycle counting, and reconciliation — and you'll lead the teams and processes that catch problems before merchants ever feel them. This is a high-visibility leadership role for someone who loves turning operational complexity into clarity: part strategist, part builder, part detective.

Responsibilities

  • Own network-wide inventory accuracy and shrink performance, defining KPIs, targets, and accountability structures across all fulfillment centers
  • Design and standardize inventory QC programs: cycle counting methodologies, audit cadences, root-cause analysis frameworks, and corrective action processes
  • Lead and develop a distributed team of inventory control managers and analysts across multiple sites
  • Partner with warehouse operations, engineering, and product teams to embed quality controls into our WMS workflows and automation
  • Build reporting and analytics that give leadership and merchants real-time confidence in inventory health
  • Run root-cause investigations on discrepancies, shrink, and damage — and drive the systemic fixes, not just the patches
  • Support merchant-facing teams during inventory escalations, audits, and annual physical counts
  • Champion a culture of accuracy and ownership on the floor, from new-hire training through site leadership

Requirements

  • 10+ years in inventory control, quality, or warehouse operations, including 5+ years leading multi-site teams — 3PL, ecommerce fulfillment, retail distribution, or similar high-SKU-velocity environments strongly preferred
  • A track record of measurably improving inventory accuracy and reducing shrink at scale
  • Deep fluency with WMS platforms, cycle counting programs, and inventory reconciliation practices
  • Strong analytical chops: comfortable in data, building dashboards, and using metrics to drive decisions (SQL/BI tool experience a plus)
  • Experience with lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies (certification a plus)
  • A leadership style that develops people and builds accountability without micromanaging
  • Willingness to travel regularly to fulfillment centers across the network (~[25–40%] — TBD)
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, operations, engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience

Qualifications

  • Nice to have: Experience scaling QC programs through rapid growth or facility launches, familiarity with automation and robotics in fulfillment environments, experience supporting external audits (SOX, ISO, customer audits)

Skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills

Benefits

  • [Competitive salary + bonus]
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid time off and company holidays
  • Career growth in a company that's profitable, and still scaling fast

Pay

  • Competitive salary + bonus
