About the role

The position of Director, Intelligent Devices reports to the Vice President of Automation Solutions and works with Regional VPs, Business Directors, Area Managers and the Rockwell Automation Channel Management. This role requires developing, maintaining, and executing joint business plans to meet and exceed growth goals and achieve recognition for Best-in-Class leadership of our Rockwell Areas of Primary Responsibility (APR). As a business segment leader, you will collaborate across sales, marketing, operations, and technical teams to drive growth, improve customer outcomes, and deliver industry-leading automation solutions. You will be part of a customer-first, innovation-driven organization with a strong reputation in industrial automation. This role will lead one of the most critical growth areas in our business while working closely with a premier global partner, Rockwell Automation.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with all corporate functions and support teams to drive immediate and long-term objectives.
  • Responsible for Rockwell Automation ITD Commercial Planning Process and Sales Performance Goals.
  • Develop & maintain resource allocation plans for Crawford Electric Supply ITD Specialist Teams.
  • Lead the Region in overseeing learning paths for Crawford Electric Supply Account Managers, Inside Salespeople, and ITD Specialist Teams.
  • Lead collaboration with the Operational Team to drive operational discipline and excellence as it relates to the Rockwell Automation ITD portfolio.
  • Help develop, strengthen, and maintain Account Manager & Specialist relationships within the Crawford Electric Supply (Rockwell Automation) Authorized APRs.
  • Lead efforts to cultivate partner relationships within the Crawford Electric Supply (Rockwell Automation) Authorized APRs.
  • Develop & maintain all Key Performance Indicators (KPI) necessary to drive initiatives and communicate regularly to the teams.
  • Participate in Crawford Electric Supply Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR) with Account Managers and Specialists by preparing presentations and communicating information.
  • Use tools like Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Sonepar Sales Management (SSM) tools, and Rockwell Partner Performance Reporting (PPR) tools to help target existing and new customers and share gain activities.
  • Help lead accountability through Annual Performance Reviews by setting SMART Goals to strengthen performance.
  • Practice consistent, effective mentoring and performance information with regional associates through direct or delegated feedback and help assist in the development of our people.
  • Drive adoption and execution of all customer omni-channel solutions and services available through Crawford Electric Supply.
  • Assist with the acquisition and development of impact talent and succession planning.
  • Engage directly with strategic customers to uncover needs and develop solutions through the Rockwell Automation ecosystem.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key Rockwell Automation stakeholders, ensuring alignment on strategy, pricing, and market development.
  • Develop and execute the Intelligent Devices business plan in alignment with Rockwell Automation’s strategic initiatives and Crawford’s growth targets.

  • Capable using Microsoft Office Suite and learning Crawford Electric Supply tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • College degree in applicable field or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • College degree in applicable field or 7+ years of experience in industrial automation, electrical distribution, or manufacturing technology.
  • Proven leadership experience managing a business unit or product line within a technical or distribution environment.

Physical Demands

Travel 50–60% or as necessary to support the job requirements.
