Director, Infrastructure Engineering Manager
About the role
The Lead, Enterprise Compute Virtualization Platforms role is within BNY Mellon's Infrastructure Engineering team based in NY/NJ. This role involves leading and managing teams responsible for enterprise compute virtualization platforms and services. Strategy for virtualization technologies across on-premises and hybrid infrastructure environments is defined and executed. Lifecycle management, optimization, and ensuring platform availability, resiliency, capacity, and performance meeting business and operational requirements are overseen.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage teams responsible for enterprise compute virtualization platforms and services.
- Define and execute strategy for virtualization technologies across on-premises and hybrid infrastructure environments.
- Oversee design, implementation, lifecycle management, and optimization of virtualization platforms.
- Ensure platform availability, resiliency, capacity, and performance meet business and operational requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required; advanced degree preferred.
- 12-15 years of diverse experience in multiple areas of information technology required; experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
- 10+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, with significant experience in compute and virtualization platforms.
- 5+ years of people leadership experience, including managing managers and technical teams.
- Deep expertise in enterprise virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere/ESXi, Nutanix, OpenShift virtual infrastructure management, clustering, HA/DRS, and related ecosystem tools.

- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Pay
The base salary for this position is expected to be between $155,000 and $175,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
