Director, Information Technology Integration

About the Role

The Director, Information Technology Integration is responsible for leading all technical integration activities associated with mergers, acquisitions, affiliations, ambulatory expansion, and strategic growth initiatives across the health system. This position serves as the technical leader for technology due diligence, stabilization efforts, infrastructure assessments, enterprise architecture alignment, cybersecurity integration, technical planning, and execution of enterprise technology integrations. The Director works collaboratively with operational IT leaders and architecture groups to coordinate matrixed technical resources while ensuring acquired organizations are integrated into enterprise technology standards safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption to clinical operations.

This leader is accountable for developing repeatable integration methodologies, technical playbooks, governance processes, and automation strategies that accelerate technology integration while reducing organizational risk. This role also partners closely with Application Integration leadership to ensure technical and application integration activities are coordinated, sequenced appropriately, and transitioned into enterprise operational support models.

Responsibilities

• Develop the long-term strategy for enterprise technology integration.
• Establish repeatable technical integration methodologies and enterprise integration playbooks.
• Standardize technology integration across all acquisitions and align with organizational growth initiatives.
• Present integration status to CIO, CTO, and executive-level committees; develop executive-level dashboards.
• Communicate risk and barriers to technical executive leadership.
• Establish a technical integration and stabilization budget.
• Partner with Application Integration leadership to coordinate enterprise application transition activities.
• Lead technical due diligence for mergers and acquisitions, including:
  • Assessing infrastructure maturity and cybersecurity posture.
  • Evaluating application portfolios and identifying technical debt.
  • Estimating integration costs and developing executive risk assessments.
  • Participating in acquisition planning.
• Collaborate with Application Integration leaders during application portfolio assessments to identify dependencies impacting technology integration planning.
• Ensure all acquisitions align with enterprise architecture standards; develop future-state technical architectures and coordinate technology standardization.
• Develop technical integration roadmaps, coordinate Day One readiness, and lead technical planning workshops.
• Develop migration strategies and resource plans.

• Collaborate with Application Integration leadership and operational support teams to coordinate technical deliverables for application transition and stabilization.
• Establish integration standards, chair technical integration review boards, and ensure compliance with enterprise architecture.
• Coordinate change management.
• Perform the professional, clinical, or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Sciences, Business, Healthcare, or related field.
• 10 or more years of Information Technology or relevant experience, including 7+ years of management or leadership experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s Business Administration in Computer Sciences, Business, Healthcare, or related field.
