About the role

This HRBP (Director level) is focused on driving critical initiatives such as workforce planning, employee engagement, performance management, and leadership coaching to support Madrigal’s strategic objectives. The position plays a pivotal role in building a high-performance culture by aligning HR programs with the company’s core values—Focus on Patients, Owner Mindset, Innovation, and Collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Establish trusted, collaborative, and responsive relationships with leaders across the organization, understanding their strategies, priorities, and goals to shape impactful HR programs and priorities that align with Madrigal’s core values.
  • Lead key HR initiatives, including workforce planning, talent acquisition, employee relations, employee engagement and retention, learning & development, and succession planning, with measurable outcomes in mind.
  • Coach and develop managers to strengthen their management and leadership skills, fostering high-performing and collaborative teams.
  • Implement and manage performance management programs that align with Madrigal’s high-performance culture, driving accountability and growth.
  • Coach to managers and partner with Employee Relations team on ER issues in alignment with Company culture and policies.
  • Collaborate across HR functions to implement tailored HR programs that address dynamic organizational needs and priorities.
  • Contribute to HR projects and initiatives on an as-needed basis to drive organizational and operational success.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources management (or related field) is required. Graduate degree highly preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive HR Business Partner experience, with expertise in organizational effectiveness, change management, learning and development, and talent management.
  • At least 2 years supporting field commercial teams in pharma or biotechnology companies.
  • At least 3 years of experience supporting or building HR functions within biotech or pharmaceutical organizations and a demonstrated understanding of HR operating models in small to mid-size environments.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and precision in work.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Proficiency in Workday and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Demonstrated consultative style with experience supporting employees and management at all levels.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and concisely.
