About the Role
This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring safety programs and initiatives for the UF Health Jacksonville campus. The Director of Hospital Safety oversees the management of the Environment of Care (EOC) Safety and Life Safety Plans to minimize hazards and reduce the risk of injury to patients, visitors, and staff. Additionally, this role oversees the Disaster Preparedness Emergency Program for the organization.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor safety programs and initiatives.
- Manage the Environment of Care (EOC) Safety and Life Safety Plans.
- Minimize hazards and reduce risk of injury to patients, visitors, and staff.
- Oversee the Disaster Preparedness Emergency Program.
Qualifications
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Education: Master's in Business Administration or Master's in Healthcare Administration
Skills & Experience
- Proven leadership skills.
- Able to lead and influence individuals outside of the Safety department.
- Ability to collaborate with leaders in different areas.
- Strong attention to detail and follow-up skills.
- 3+ years of experience in Joint Commission Environment of Care standards.
- 5+ years in a leadership position in a large healthcare organization.
Preferred Experience: 3+ years of experience as Chairman or Co-Chair of an Environment of Care Committee.
