Director - Hospital Revenue Cycle - Revenue Cycle Solutions
About the role
The Director of Hospital Revenue Cycle is responsible for overseeing the strategic planning, direction, and direct accountability for hospital revenue cycle operations. This includes billing, coding, compliance, service line accounts receivable, technology integration, quality assurance, and operations support for the hospital central business office (CBO).
Responsibilities
- Manages all billing, follow-up, and denials for managed care, commercial, workers comp, and specialty accounts receivable.
- Manages external vendor relationships and partnerships and ensures the success of their work.
- Ties revenue cycle operations to the financial statements.
- Makes recommendations to senior management based on progress on strategic plans.
- Ensures the physical environment and job structures are designed to promote employee safety.
Requirements
- Required Education: Associates degree
- Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Healthcare Administration
- Required Work Experience: 5 years in healthcare revenue cycle management, including 2 years in a multi-facility system with substantial clinic exposure.
- Preferred Certifications: Professional Certification through Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), American Association of Healthcare Administrative Management (AAHAM) or Medical Group Management Association (MGMA)

- Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally.
- Proficient with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to role, and keyboard.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Thorough knowledge of medical billing and collections including, Medicare, Medicaid, Blue Cross, Workers Comp and other third party payers.
- Professional attitude and ability to relate to executive management, professionals, and business and community leaders.
- Excellent leadership and self-direction.
- Good judgment in handling difficult situations.
- Good organizational, time management, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $120,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. Exact compensation will be determined during the hiring process.
Schedule
The Director of Hospital Revenue Cycle works a standard Monday through Friday schedule, typically 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Some evening and weekend work may be required to meet departmental needs.
