Responsibilities
- Directing the day-to-day operations of the Hospice Department
- Overseeing patient care delivery and supporting high standards of hospice services
- Providing clinical leadership and ensuring care aligns with hospice philosophy and interdisciplinary plans of care
- Maintaining compliance with state and federal hospice regulations and keeping policies and procedures current
- Developing departmental goals, strategic plans, and performance improvement initiatives
- Managing staffing, scheduling, hiring, orientation, training, evaluations, and disciplinary processes
- Monitoring departmental budget, billing reconciliation, medication discrepancies, and charge-related processes
- Serving as a liaison between hospice, hospital leadership, physicians, agencies, and the community
- Representing hospice services at community events, professional meetings, and outreach activities
- Participating in committees and completing required hospice administrative training
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Texas required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
- Completion of 16 hours of hospice-specific administrative education within 12 months of hire required
- Two years of hospice administration experience preferred
- Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and multitasking skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook
