Director - Hospice

Responsibilities

• Directing the day-to-day operations of the Hospice Department
• Overseeing patient care delivery and supporting high standards of hospice services
• Providing clinical leadership and ensuring care aligns with hospice philosophy and interdisciplinary plans of care
• Maintaining compliance with state and federal hospice regulations and keeping policies and procedures current
• Developing departmental goals, strategic plans, and performance improvement initiatives
• Managing staffing, scheduling, hiring, orientation, training, evaluations, and disciplinary processes
• Monitoring departmental budget, billing reconciliation, medication discrepancies, and charge-related processes
• Serving as a liaison between hospice, hospital leadership, physicians, agencies, and the community
• Representing hospice services at community events, professional meetings, and outreach activities
• Participating in committees and completing required hospice administrative training

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Texas required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
• Completion of 16 hours of hospice-specific administrative education within 12 months of hire required
• Two years of hospice administration experience preferred
• Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and multitasking skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook
