Director, Hematology Clinical Intelligence & RWE Strategy

About the role
As Director, Hematology Clinical Intelligence & RWE Strategy, you will lead the end-to-end evidence strategy for the Hematology therapeutic area, spanning the full continuum from R&D to patient care and ensuring evidence is aligned to the highest-priority scientific, medical, and business needs across the product lifecycle. In this highly visible role, you will identify and rank evidence gaps, build strategies that bring to bear the PH3ID (Phase 3 Investment Decision) Intelligence Foundation and multimodal data assets, and translate complex data landscapes into actionable intelligence that informs portfolio investment decisions, regulatory filings, and commercial positioning.
You will work at the interface of Translational Science, Clinical Development, and Market Access, influencing senior stakeholders across a matrixed environment without direct line authority. You will bring deep expertise in evidence generation, working knowledge of multimodal modeling approaches, and the ability to address both clinical development and market access needs. You will join a team that delivers lifecycle intelligence across development, regulatory, and market access, and that is building AI-enabled evidence designed to extend across future use cases rather than be rebuilt each time. Hematology is a fast-growing therapeutic area, and the evidence strategy you own, along with the specific intelligence you contribute to that foundation, will play a key part in informing how the portfolio advances.
Responsibilities
- Own the Hematology clinical intelligence and real-world evidence strategy end to end, from R&D through to patient care, building the therapeutic area roadmap and keeping it aligned to the highest-priority scientific, medical, and business needs across development, regulatory, and market access.
- Define and prioritize the evidence gaps that matter most, informing PH3ID, trial design, external control arm strategies, and subpopulation discovery.
- Partner with Translational Science and Clinical Development to bring multimodal signals (genomics, imaging, digital endpoints, pathology AI) into strategies for patient stratification and biomarker-driven development.
- Advance AI-enabled approaches in Hematology, including tumor dynamics forecasting, prognostic risk adjustment, trial simulation, and transportability analyses.
- Turn internal and competitor trial data, alongside real-world data, into insight on standard of care, patient pathways, unmet need, and competitive positioning that sharpens development and access decisions.
- Influence across Global Product Teams, matrix teams, and external data partners to keep evidence outputs both technically rigorous and strategically relevant.
- Build Hematology-specific intelligence that persists and extends within the PH3ID Intelligence Foundation, so evidence compounds across use cases rather than being rebuilt for each question.
Requirements
Leadership & Influence
- Track record of translating complex analytical outputs into strategic recommendations that advise portfolio decisions.
- Experience working at the interface of Translational Science, Clinical Development, and Market Access functions, with the ability to distill technical complexity into clear narratives for diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to lead without authority, influencing senior collaborators and cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment.
Technical and Strategic Expertise
- Expert command of oncology real-world data assets and their application to evidence generation.
- Proven track record to build end-to-end evidence strategies that address both clinical development needs (trial design, regulatory submissions) and market access needs (HTA requirements, payer value narratives).
- Strong foundation in evidence generation methodologies, including observational study design, causal inference, comparative effectiveness research, and external control arms.
- Experience with regulatory submissions or HTA dossiers leveraging RWE.
- Solid understanding of multimodal modeling approaches, and how clinical, imaging, genomic, and real-world data can be integrated to build patient classifiers, prognostic models, and trial simulators.
Education and Experience
- Advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, MD, or equivalent) in epidemiology, biostatistics, health economics, clinical science, or a quantitative discipline relevant to evidence generation.
- 5+ years of experience in evidence generation, RWE, health outcomes research, or a related function within pharma, biotech, or a leading academic or consultancy environment.
Desirable Experience
- Familiarity with AI/ML applications in RWE, including predictive modeling and automated evidence synthesis.
- Prior experience shaping or contributing to AI-enabled evidence platforms.
Schedule
This role requires in-office work, on average, a minimum of three days per week from the office to foster collaboration and innovation. The position can be aligned to our offices in Boston, MA, with potential options in London, UK or Barcelona, Spain under certain conditions.
Pay
The annual base pay for this position ranges from $155,516.80 to $233,275.20. The role is eligible for various incentives, including short-term incentive bonuses, equity-based awards, and commissions (for sales roles).
