Director, Ground Operations Safety ( Aviation ) - Remote Available

For our client, we are seeking a Director, Ground Operations Safety ( Aviation ) - Remote Available to join the team of a leader in the Aerospace & Defense space. This leader will own the safety strategy for ground operations and guide a team focused on compliance, risk reduction, and operational support. The role will partner closely with airport, ramp, and business stakeholders to strengthen safety performance across diverse operational environments. In addition, this leader will help improve investigation processes, emergency response readiness, and continuous improvement efforts tied to ground handling and aircraft damage prevention. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $123,462 – $163,873 annually Responsibilities Set the safety strategy for ground operations Lead and develop the safety team to support compliance and operational needs Build partnerships to improve safety performance Drive continuous improvement in aircraft ground damage prevention Manage safety standards with business partners Enhance ground safety investigation processes Ensure compliance with safety procedures and policies Oversee the emergency response plan and testing Qualifications 8+ years of experience in aviation or the airline industry 5+ years of leadership experience Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Experience leading airport and ramp operations Knowledge of Safety Management Systems (SMS) Strong communication and presentation skills Willingness to travel 30% of the time Benefits Remote work arrangement with periodic travel to Denver Opportunity for personal development within safety leadership Diverse work environments, including office and airport settings Engagement with various levels of management and external agencies Flexibility in work location for enhanced work-life balance Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
