About the role

The Director of Government Affairs will lead REV’s legislative and regulatory efforts. REV is an owner, operator, and developer of energy storage and renewable electricity generation across the United States. This role requires a deep understanding of the electric power markets and the ability to translate REV’s business priorities into clear policy and advocacy strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Understand REV’s business priorities and the markets in which we operate.
  • Develop legislative and regulatory strategies that are clearly aligned with business priorities.
  • Communicate legislative and regulatory strategies clearly to senior and executive leadership teams.
  • Work closely with Development, Markets, and Strategy teams to advance legislative and regulatory agenda.
  • Develop outcome-oriented state specific and multi-state strategies to help our company achieve objectives.
  • Represent and protect the company’s interests by working with governmental entities and associated authorities.
  • Analyze proposed legislative and regulatory actions and determine the potential impact on the company.
  • Develop appropriate responses to such actions.
  • Manage relationships with key policy-makers; travel to and meet with legislators and their staff on behalf of REV.
  • Attend state and federal government and legislative meetings.
  • Work with lobbyists, PR firms, and other consultants.
  • Frequent travel will be required on an as-needed and proactive basis throughout the US.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, public policy, legal, communication, or business preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience working in renewables and/or electric power sector.
  • 1-2 years working in policy-oriented roles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, management, interpersonal, and executive skills.
  • Ability to travel anywhere in U.S. as required.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

  • Must be able to sit/stand at a desk, using a computer workstation.
  • The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach with hands and arms, walk; lift, push or pull objects up to 20 pounds.
  • Must be able to handle long periods of screen time and typing.
  • Must be able to have effective time management skills, with the ability to concentrate for long periods of time.
