Director Government Affairs

About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Director Government Affairs to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. This leader will guide government relations strategy for a regional market, ensuring the organization is well-positioned to respond to legislative and regulatory developments. The role will build trusted relationships with public officials and key stakeholders while shaping advocacy efforts that support business objectives. It will also provide strategic counsel on policy matters tied to products and broader organizational initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the government relations function for a regional market
• Cultivate relationships with government officials and stakeholders to advance organizational objectives
• Provide policy and regulatory guidance to support products and strategic initiatives
• Track and analyze legislation and regulations impacting the organization
• Develop responses to public policy initiatives and coordinate advocacy efforts
• Manage external lobbying efforts to advance legislative agendas
• Develop communication tools to convey the organization's position on policy matters

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Political Science, Business Administration, Health Administration, Pre-Law, Public Policy Analysis, or a related field
• 7 years of experience in a legal, lobbyist, or government affairs role
• 5 years of leadership or management experience
• 6 years of related experience may substitute for a Bachelor's degree
• Preferred: Master's Degree in Public Policy Analysis or Health Administration

Pay

$110,000 – $130,000 annually
