About the Role

The Director, Global PMO is responsible for driving and implementing pivotal initiatives, running regional and global technical and non-technical projects, and building the future Global Operations Project and Portfolio Management Office infrastructure and team. This role focuses on developing and strengthening a high-performing project team while advancing project management excellence across the organization.

You will lead complex technical and non-technical projects, shape and scale the Global Operations PMO, establish robust processes and capabilities, and mentor Project Managers. This position reports to the Senior Director, Global Operations PMO and Strategy, and is an on-site role in Chaska, Minnesota, with approximately 20% domestic and international travel.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, lead, and mentor Project Managers to ensure projects realize their benefits and team members reach their potential.
  • Define and embed best-in-class project and program management standards, tools, and methodologies.
  • Establish and drive the achievement of Project and Portfolio KPIs using Danaher Business Systems tools (Visual Project Management, Daily Management) and Global Ops PMO Standard Work/Methodology.
  • Oversee the execution of regional and global projects/programs, ensuring alignment with business priorities and delivery on time, within scope, and on budget.
  • Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment, demonstrating collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations to project teams, sponsors, steering teams, and executive-level partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Scientific and/or engineering) with preference for 14+ years of Project Management experience; OR Master’s degree with preference for 12+ years; OR Doctoral degree with preference for 9+ years.
  • Significant experience in a diagnostic/medical device regulated environment (manufacturing, R&D, engineering).
  • Strong Project Management experience leading large, sophisticated operations and/or R&D projects/programs and complex teams.
  • Proven experience leading all aspects of medium/large design changes and technology transfer programs/projects in the Medical Device or Diagnostics regulatory environment.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all organizational levels.
  • Minimum of 10 years of people management experience, with a proven ability to manage, mentor, and develop Project Managers and teams with varying levels of PM competence.
  • Global business knowledge and demonstrated ability to lead, follow, work, and influence across all levels and functions in a global matrixed organization.
  • Ability to travel domestically and globally (~20% travel).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Lean/Six Sigma experience, certified Kaizen leader, and demonstrated capability in problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in Power BI, Smartsheet, MIRO, Excel, and PM software.

Pay

The annual salary range for this role is $200,000 - $220,000, with eligibility for bonus/incentive pay.

Schedule

This is an on-site role in Chaska, Minnesota, with approximately 20% domestic and international travel. The position is eligible for a remote work arrangement, allowing you to work remotely from your home.
